Federal Court Approves $475,000 Settlement for Restaurant Workers at The Steel Coop and Sunset Restaurant

A federal court has granted preliminary approval to a $475,000 collective action settlement involving servers and bartenders who worked at The Steel Coop in Livingston, Tennessee and Sunset Restaurant in Monroe, Tennessee. The workers alleged they were not paid properly for their time under federal wage and hour laws. After reviewing the agreement, the Court found the settlement to be fair, reasonable, and adequate.

The settlement covers employees who worked at either restaurant between December 23, 2021 and April 15, 2025. The Court certified the collective for settlement purposes, approved the notice process, appointed a third-party settlement administrator, and authorized payments for those who submit valid claim forms.
